Learn the fundamental movement principles and progressive exercise sequences of the Gyrotonic® Method
The Gyrotonic Method is practiced throughout the world and is an increasingly popular method used for injury rehabilitation, training and conditioning. In Europe the Gyrotonic equipment is used in hospitals to help people recover from surgery. In the sporting world athletes such as Andy Murray and Tiger Woods have long used the method as part of their training and conditioning program. Many well-known ballet companies have incorporated the Gyrotonic Method into their dancer-training program. Successful completion of the Gyrotonic Level 1 Teacher Training Program will qualify you as a fully certified Gyrotonic Trainer. Successful completion of this program is necessary in order to become a Gyrotonic Trainer and to be eligible to enrol in specialised Gyrotonic courses such as the Gyrotoner and Jumping Stretching Board programs.
The program is composed of four sequential sections:
Gyrotonic Level 1 Pre-training
This course is designed to give you an understanding of the Level 1 exercises and prepare you physically for the Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation Course.
Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation
This course expands on the lessons in the pre-training course and is also where students learn the teaching skills and techniques specific to the Gyrotonic Method.
Gyrotonic Level 1 Apprenticeship
This apprenticeship period can last up to one year and students receive a trademark license allowing them to teach Gyrotonic Level I exercises in the role of Gyrotonic Apprentice.
Gyrotonic Level 1 Final Certificate
