A presentation by Sarah Paxford – Occupational Therapist and Lymphoedema Practitioner
Sarah is an Occupational Therapist, Pilates Instructor and Lymphoedema Practitioner with further training in cancer rehabilitation. With over 12 years’ experience, Sarah is passionate about holistic wellness and improving long term health outcomes for people with cancer.
Sarah’s focus is on enhancing people’s function, movement and wellbeing throughout their entire cancer journey and ensuring that they are well supported, even after medical treatment ceases.
What you will learn?
In this tutorial we will focus on Lymphoedema and breast cancer (and some other cancers). You will learn the development of the disease and its manifestations, treatment options and their effects. A large part of the time will be focusing on how we as movement practitioners can support our clients through their breast cancer diagnosis and the implications it will have for your programming in the studio. You will walk away with hands on advice that you can use in the studio both pre and post treatment.

We recommend doing our online Cancer course in conjunction with this tutorial as this will give you a deeper understanding of different types of cancer.
The tutorial will be run from our West End studio if you are in Brisbane and would like to participate in person, or you can join us via Zoom. Participants will receive a recording of the tutorial afterwards.
