Laura Kinmont practices her profession of musculoskeletal therapy and remedial massage in Brisbane with Body Organics. She completed her Bachelor of Health Science (Musculoskeletal Therapy) degree at Endeavour College of Natural Health in 2008. As part of this degree she learned remedial massage, pregnancy massage, cupping (a Chinese technique used to help relax tight muscles and other soft tissue), sports massage, myofascial release (another soft tissue stretching technique) as well as joint mobilisations (a gentle joint technique used
to help realign joint misalignments). Laura enjoys treating head, neck and lower back concerns in particular. She has also volunteered at the Gold Coast Marathon where she helped with post-run massages.
Musculoskeletal therapy treats symptoms, relieves pain, and identifies and addresses contributing factors and underlying causes of musculoskeletal conditions. Musculoskeletal therapists have the ability to effectively assess a presenting musculoskeletal condition, identify its causes/contributing factors and to develop a holistic plan of management that will provide an effective result. Exercise prescription, diet/nutritional measures, postural awareness, as well as hands-on techniques may be employed.
Laura is available for remedial massage and musculoskeletal treatments at both Body Organics studios in Brisbane: West End and Annerley.
